Anonymous said: Soccer is, has been, and will be a million times harder than hockey. Hockey players are pansies and I literally laugh at the fact people enjoy watching that stupid ass shit with talentless people skating around like idiots. Talk to me when you watch a real sport.
are you joking? are you you actually kidding me right now??? clearly you are someone who has never watched a hockey game. Lets break this down, shall we?
Hockey players are pansies? This is probably the stupidest thing a soccer fan could say about hockey. Hockey players are pansies but soccer players are not? hockey players can take pucks of up to 100 mph flying at them, get relentlessly checked into the boards, and occasionally drop the gloves and get into fights. Players in the past have broken fingers mid-play and still finished a shift. They play with broken bones, torn cartilage, broken ribs, separated shoulder, punctured lung. They can get bloodied up, hop off for a few stitches and ask to be back in the next period. Hockey players are not pansies.
Talent less people? This is actually comical. Hockey players players can skate up to 30 mph, while, like i said before, shooting the puck around at 100 mph. It takes a lot of skill and talent to do that all while trying to keep you balance on the ice. Our players strategically score goals (something that doesnt happen very often in soccer) into some pretty small nets and past skilled goalies. Lets talk about goalies for a second; they have tiny masses of rubber flying at them from every direction, with speeds, like ive said, up to 100mph. Shots on goal happen all the time, so not only do all the players, but both goalies, always have to be on alert for the entire game.
Skate around like idiots? When it comes down to it, our boys take the sport of hockey very seriously. (off the ice they can be a little idioty sometimes but we love them very much for it) They put their all into every game - I think we all can agree they dont skate around like idiots. They skate around with a game plan in mind, wanting to see that puck in the net and win that game.
Hockey is a sport for the fans. Every player has probably said at one point or another in an interview that they do what they do and they play the game for their city. They win for their team and for their fans, because without fans, hockey wouldnt be the amazing and popular sport it is today. The Stanley Cup is one of the toughest things to win in all of sports; taking in consideration of the general idea that they play on ice, the size of the puck, the fast pace of the sport, the talented players, and the physical skill it takes to play the sport, i am not surprised. How bout you talk to me when you watch a real sport :)
So every morning I get off the train and start my 20 minute walk to work, and there’s this guy who’s always like 3 steps ahead of me and always beats me to the street corner bc I get stopped by the light and he passes it. but today I was ahead of him for the first time and he RUNS in front of me, turns around and goes “I’ve been winning for 2 months now, can’t stop now, have a good day, see you tomorrow.” tmrw I swear i’m wearing running shoes to work.
